We believe in housing and employment for everyone

Supportive Housing
Supportive Housing (SH) is a philosophy and a program that is rooted in the belief that no one should have to prove “housing readiness” to be housed. The service is an evidence-based practice with decades of research, as well as personal and professional stories that highlight the success of community living paired with intensive, personalized supports.
A person is supported in the process of securing community-based, affordable housing of their choice along with individualized support to assist with stabilization and self-identified goals. SH adheres to the principles of Housing First, Harm Reduction, Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Person Centered Planning, and Strengths-Based Approach. Program participation, medication adherence, and abstinence are not required to keep one’s housing.
Supportive Employment
Employment is closely related to housing stability and can have a positive effect on a person’s capacity to maintain stable housing. Employment also has health benefits, including increasing the likelihood of successful Mental Health recovery or Substance Use Disorder rehabilitation.
Supported Employment Services is a program that helps Home and Community Services clients who want to work and meet the Foundational Community Supports criteria to become employed in integrated community employment.
Supported Employment services are person- centered to the client and will involve an employment provider’s assistance. The provider will enable them to use their skills, interests, abilities, and past work history to develop an employment plan and support them to achieve paid employment in their community. The client will receive benefits planning services to address how income will impact their benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid (including long- term care services), housing supports, and other state and federal benefits to help them make an informed decision about seeking paid employment. Services include exploring different work opportunities, putting together a resume, looking for work, support to learn a new job, and long term supports to keep the job.

GlidePath Program
Glidepath is a personalized program to address your unique needs, challenges, and barriers to sustaining long-term housing and employment. Specifically designed for a priority population of FCS Supported Employment participants in the Pierce County area of Washington State. The priority population includes individuals who are enrolled in the FCS supported employment program, and receive HEN benefits (or have recently lost their HEN benefits.) By focusing on this population, the Glidepath program encourages individuals to work and connects them with benefits planning, rental assistance and provides funding to cover approved work-related expenses. These supports will ensure participants the opportunity to engage fully in the communities and lead fulfilling lives on their terms. Glidepath will provide benefit planning services to help you understand how employment can have an impact on your housing, health insurance, and other benefits, so you can make informed choices with your life.
